It has a 24.1 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor which is partnered with a Digic 8 processor. The EOS R100 is the cheapest model in Canon's extensive range of mirrorless cameras, mainly aimed at first-time camera owners who want to upgrade from their smartphone to a more capable device.
